Be Prepared

Take a Personal Emergency Preparedness (PEP) class, offered by Sunnyvale’s Office of Emergency Services. Classes are available in various lengths, locations, and languages.


SNAP LogoSchedule a Map Your Neighborhood preparedness event to develop a disaster response plan with your neighbors. Sunnyvale Public Safety volunteers will help organize and run the event for you.

Be a Volunteer Responder

CERT logoThe City’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) supplements uniformed officers. CERT responds to emergencies, disasters and public service events. Learn how to help your community when it’s most needed. Take a CERT Basic Training class.


SARES logoThe Sunnyvale Amateur Radio Emergency Service (SARES) provide communication services during a disaster when regular methods are unavailable. SARES provides training for radio operators.
