A Sunnyvale Unity Event

The City of Sunnyvale is proud to announce the 41st Annual Hands on the Arts festival.

This free children's festival is a long-standing tradition celebrating our city's diversity through art from around the world. Participants will enjoy arts and crafts workshops led by Art Workshop Leaders. Enjoy a day of creative fun for the whole family.

When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Where: Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 E. Remington Drive

This is a FREE event.

Arts and Entertainment

The festival is packed with endless creativity. Highlights including:

• Hands-on art workshops: all supplies included.
• Roaming performers: Keep an eye out for whimsical entertainers wandering the festival grounds to dazzle and delight.

Food

Food trucks will be available on site.

Getting There

Bike to the event and use our free bike valet to safely store your bike. You can also catch a ride using Sunnyvale Beam, the City's new on-demand rideshare service. Your first three rides are free.

Parking

Parking is available in the Community Center parking lots.

Volunteer

We are looking for energetic volunteers for fun event to:

• Help our Art Workshop Leaders by organizing, prepping, re-stocking and cleaning up supplies
• Help kids with fun art projects
• Provide general customer service

Volunteer Shifts

• Full Day: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Lunch and gift provided)
• Half-day
  • Morning: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Afternoon: Noon to 4 p.m.

Register to Volunteer

We do not accept walk-up volunteers on the day of the event. You must pre-register.

If you are a new volunteer:

• Complete the Hands on the Arts Volunteer Application.
• Email us with the following information:
  • Full name
  • Phone number
  • Tell us if you are a teen (13-17 years) or adult
  • Shift preference (Full day, morning or afternoon)
  • T-shirt size
• (If you are over 18) Get fingerprinted. We schedule fingerprinting appointments after we receive your application. Appointments are free. 
  • Fingerprinting deadline is Friday, Oct. 2.

If you are a returning volunteer:

• Email us with the following information:
  • Full name
