4th of July Event: America’s 250th Anniversary

Date: Saturday, July 4, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: Downtown Sunnyvale – Murphy Avenue

Join us for a fun-filled day with free activities:

  • Enjoy amusement rides, including the 72 ft. Ferris wheel on Sunnyvale Avenue 
  • Play carnival games and win toy prizes 
  • Ride the 100 ft. Slide on McKinley Avenue 
  • Watch performances at the Kids and Main Stages 
  • View City fire trucks on display 
  • Visit informational booths and pick up giveaways

Entertainment Schedule

Main Stage:

  • 10 to 11:30 a.m. - Kimberlye Gold All Stars 
  • 12:30 to 2 p.m. - The Houserockers 

Kids Stage:

  • 10 a.m. - Lori & RJ Summertime Fun Party 
  • 11 a.m. - DC’s Dance Party 
  • 12 p.m. - Choo Choo Soul with Genevieve (Meet and greet at 1:15 p.m.)
  • 1:15 p.m. - Lori & RJ

Bike Parade

Decorate your bike and parade with us from the Sunnyvale Public Library to Downtown Sunnyvale.

To participate:

  • Meet at the Library at 9 a.m.
    • The bike parade will begin at 9:30 a.m.
    • Park your bike for free at the event’s bike valet (Provided by Silicon Valley Bike Coalition and funded by VTA's 2016 Measure B).

Food Options

In addition to our many downtown restaurants, we will have three food trucks on site.

  • T-Mo (Burritos, nachos, wings and more)
  • Grillzillas (Burgers, chicken tenders, fries and more)
  • Mister Softee (Soft serve ice cream)

To reduce waste and protect the environment, our food trucks will be using reusable dishware with the help of our zero waste vendor, Sparkl. 

We will have recycling and composting bins available, provided by Specialty Solid Waste & Recycling.

Transportation

Get to Downtown Sunnyvale with these commuting options:

  • Ride your bike and park at our free bike valet, located at the corner of Sunnyvale and McKinley avenues (Provided by Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition and funded by VTA's 2016 Measure B).
  • Park for FREE at any of our public parking lots surrounding the event area.
  • Use public transportation:

Road Closures

Downtown Sunnyvale streets will be closed from July 2 to 6.
The Sunnyvale Farmers' Market will also not be operating on July 4 due to the festival.

Road closures include:

  • Sunnyvale Avenue, from Washington to McKinley
  • Washington Avenue, from Frances to Sunnyvale
  • Murphy Avenue, from Washington to McKinley
  • McKinley Avenue, from Taaffe to Sunnyvale
