Picnic Season

April 1 through Oct. 31, Picnic season:
Picnic reservations are available.

Nov. 1 through March 31, Off season:
Picnic reservations aren’t available. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Who Can Reserve

City neighborhood park picnic sites may only be reserved by Sunnyvale residents and businesses.

Baylands Park is open to reservations by both residents, nonresidents and businesses.

Reservation Details

Online picnic reservations must be made at least three days in advance.
You may make reservations up to six months in advance.
Reservations are for the full day.

Your reservations will be tentative until we approve them. Once approved, we email your permit and receipt to the email address on your account.

Neighborhood parks: Reservations are for one site per reservation date per customer.

Baylands Park: You can reserve multiple picnic sites. See Special Reservations below.

How to Reserve

You must pay in full to complete the reservation. Partial-payment holds aren’t accepted.

Special Reservations

Picnic Reservation Rules

Legal Age

You must be age 18 and up to make a reservation.

Payments

Full payment is required at the time of the reservation.

No third-party payments are accepted. Name on check or credit card must match the name of the individual or organization on the rental permit.

When an event is less than two weeks away, you must pay by cash or credit card. We will accept check payments in person at the Community Center.

Cancellations

We reserve the right to cancel any use of facilities or equipment with two weeks’ notice.

To cancel your reservation, you must contact us at least 30 days prior to your event. Notice must be given by phone or in person.

Cancellations 30 or more days before the event are subject to a $15 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 30 days of the event you forfeit all fees.

Refunds: If paid by check or cash a refund check will be mailed to the permit holder within six to eight weeks after the cancellation request. If paid by credit card, the permit holder’s credit card will be credited within two to three days following the cancellation request.

Changes

To change the date or location of your reservation, you must contact us at least two weeks prior to your event. Notice must be given by phone or in person and will be subject to a $5 transfer fee.

You may only request one date or location change, it must be in the current picnic season, and is subject to availability.

Rainout

If it rains the day of your picnic, contact us within three business days after your event to ask about reservation fees refund. After three business days we will not process any refunds. We will not provide backup indoor facilities for inclement weather.
