Where: Sunnyvale Community Center, 550 E. Remington Drive

The event will feature remarks from Mayor Larry Klein and Interim Director of Public Works Ramana Chinnakotla. Light refreshments will be provided.

Enter by the Performing Arts and Creative Arts center via Michelangelo Drive. The event will take place in the upper plaza by the fountain.

New features at the 2-acre park include:

This project is a major renovation of the grounds surrounding the Community Center. The Community Center, built in 1973, is centrally located in Sunnyvale.

In 2014, the Council approved a project to renovate the grounds surrounding the Community Center. 

In October 2021, the City awarded a contract for design services to Verde Design, Inc. The design phase kicked off in November 2021.

We developed a conceptual plan that met project goals and included input from community meetings and surveys.

On Jan. 10, 2023, the Council approved the Preferred Concept Plan.

The building permit was obtained in spring 2024. The design documents were finalized for construction bidding shortly after.
