Schedule an Inspection

Inspections are required for all building permits. The general contractor is responsible for scheduling and being present for all inspections. If you are not familiar with which inspections your specific project requires, contact a building or fire inspector at the One-Stop Permit Center, 408-730-7444.

Fire Inspection

Email us to schedule a fire inspection and include:

  • Permit number(s)
  • Property address(es)
  • Inspection type(s)
  • Site contact information (email and phone number)

HazMat Inspection

For projects that involve hazardous materials, call 408-730-7212 to schedule a hazardous materials inspection.

Public Works Inspection

Call 408-730-7415, extension 6, to schedule an inspection for work or construction in the public right of way.

Special Inspections

Certain types of projects and construction methods require special inspections by an outside agency. Special inspection requirements are identified at the time of plan review and noted on the plans. Contact your plan checker of record to confirm requirements.

Electrical Equipment Testing Agencies

All electrical equipment must:

  • Be listed by a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory and labeled with the certification mark of that laboratory, or
  • Be field-certified and labeled by a recognized third party electrical testing agency.
