SUBJECT: Acceptance of Improvements, Street A.C. Overlay and Reconstruction Maintenance Project, ST-98-02

Recommendation

That the City Council, by resolution, accept the project as complete and satisfactory.

DISCUSSION

The Contractor, Granite Construction Company, has satisfactorily completed the annual street AC overlay and reconstruction maintenance project within the allocated budget and for the final contract amount of $468,266.32.

Asphalt concrete overlay was done on the following streets:

1. Sunnyvale Avenue between California Avenue and Central Expressway.

Asphalt pavement reconstruction was done on the following streets:

1. Mulberry Court (End of Mulberry Lane and Lynn Ave).
2. Logan Court (off Kennewick Drive).
3. Serra Park Parking Lot (730 The Dalles Avenue).
4. Evelyn Avenue/Bernardo Avenue Intersection.
5. Duane Avenue between Fair Oaks Avenue and Morse Avenue.
6. Sunnyvale Avenue between California Avenue and Hendy Avenue.

The work was done as part of the Annual Street Maintenance Program that provides for the installation of asphaltic concrete overlay and asphaltic pavement reconstruction of City streets that are in need of repair.

The project was inspected by the Public Works Project Administration Section and found to be satisfactory. Acceptance is, therefore, recommended.
