SUBJECT: Acceptance of Improvements-Repair of Existing Cart Paths and Walkways, Sunnyvale and Sunken Gardens Golf Courses, PR-98-4 RTC #99-278
recommendation
That the City Council, by resolution, accept the project as satisfactorily completed.
discussion
The Contractor, Collishaw Construction, Inc., has satisfactorily completed the Repair of Existing Cart Paths and Walkways, Sunnyvale and Sunken Gardens Golf Courses project, within the allocated budget and for the final contract amount of $61,196.08.
The work included removing and disposing of selected sections of existing cart path pavement, and installing 4 inches of base material and 2 inches of asphaltic concrete, or 2 inches asphaltic concrete overlay, or slurry seal (depending on location).
The work was done to repair damaged portions of the existing cart paths and walkways at both courses. Root intrusion and deterioration of base materials under the paving had contributed to the damage.
The project was inspected by the Public Works Project Administration Section and found to be satisfactory. Acceptance is, therefore, recommended.
